Lyricist Raj Shekhar has shared behind-the-scenes insights into the making of ‘Tabaahi’, the first single from Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Kiara Advani. Speaking about his experience, Shekhar described Yash as “a very, very sharp man,” praising the actor for his deep creative involvement and clear understanding of storytelling.
In an interview with Variety India, Raj Shekhar revealed that Yash actively contributed creative inputs throughout the songwriting process. He said the actor’s attention to detail and ability to communicate his vision helped shape the emotional depth and intensity of Tabaahi. Shekhar also praised director Geetu Mohandas, calling the collaboration inspiring and highlighting her distinctive cinematic vision, which played a key role in defining the song’s mood and narrative.
The lyricist also spoke about reuniting with composer-singer Vishal Mishra after the success of Tum Ho Toh from Saiyaara. According to Shekhar, the strong trust and creative understanding between the two made it easier to craft Tabaahi, resulting in a song that blends emotion with the mature, layered world of Toxic.
